Ireland’s Total Produce gets EC’s approval for stake in U.S. Dole Food

Irish fresh produce company Total Produce said that the European Commission (EC) has cleared its acquisition of a 45 percent stake in U.S.-based agricultural company Dole Food.

Now that the EC's anti-trust review is complete, the fresh produce company will pay $300 million for the stake.

Dole's revenue for the year to October 7 was $4.46 billion.

Shares in Total Produce closed up 2.8 percent at 200.5245 pence on Monday.
