Israel-based software platform Overwolf has raised $16 million in a funding round led by Intel Capital, an investment arm of U.S.-based technology company Intel Corporation, for its game applications and services.

Additional investors include Liberty Technology Venture Capital, a subsidiary of U.S.-based media company Liberty Media, as well as Overwolf’s existing investors.

Overwolf said that through its close collaboration with Intel, which shares its passion for building open and neutral ecosystems, it expects its developer to partner features that will help its business grow.

The deal follows an August announcement where Overwolf and Intel said they would create a $7 million fund to invest in applications and mods for hardcore gamers.
