Italy's Nidec Industrial Solutions starts building $10 mln facility in U.S.

Italian industrial electrical systems company Nidec Industrial Solutions (Nidec ASI) revealed that the company has started a construction project at Granger Road and Tuxedo Avenue in Brooklyn Heights, U.S.

As part of the deal, Nidec Industrial, a unit of the Japan-based Nidec Corp., has hired Geis Construction to build a 68,000-square-foot structure that will allow it to combine a total of 130 staffers from three locations in one.

With a total investment of $10 million, the construction project will allow Nidec ASI to form a cohesive team and a wider network, able to enhance and boost its presence in the U.S.

The new building, anticipated to be completed in 2021, will consist of three levels, each with its own loading dock, as well as two 20-ton bridge cranes that will use Nidec's own controllers.
