Italian electricity and natural gas company Enel plans to invest some 15 million euros ($17 million) in the next 3 to 4 years in a network of charging stations for electric cars in Romania.

The investment budget could allow Enel to open over 700 charging stations locally.

Enel, whose portfolio of wind and solar parks in Romania has an installed capacity of 534 megawatts, plans to focus and target a national coverage.

The company recorded revenues of $722 million in Romania, in the first half of this year, up by 11 percent compared to the same period of 2017.
