Japanese internet giant Softbank seeks to invest an additional $1.6 billion in Chinese mobile transportation platform Didi.
With the proposed funds, Didi plans to make additional hires to focus on compliance, driver management, and internationalization.
In 2017, Softbank took part in a $5.5 billion round in Didi, alongside China Merchants Bank and the Bank of Communications.
Furthermore, Softbank also participated in a $4.5 billion funding round in Didi in 2016.
