Kenyan coffee farmers reaped 24.8 billion Kenyan shillings ($155 million) in the past year. Cooperative societies and estates played a pivotal role, selling six hundred thirty-five thousand nine hundred five bags of coffee, contributing to the total deliveries of seven hundred twenty-nine thousand five hundred eleven bags through the Nairobi Coffee Exchange. Despite a brief setback due to confusion around coffee reforms, the sector rebounded, now accommodating an average of twenty thousand bags weekly. A December auction saw a remarkable 94 percent sales rate, with New Kenya Planters Cooperative Union securing $950,000 and Alliance Berries Ltd garnering $588,125.

The positive trend in Kenya's coffee industry continued with 75 percent buyer participation in auctions, showcasing steady improvement. The Deputy President noted the resilience of the sector and the return of buyers following the government's $37.9 million investment in the Cherry Fund.
