The funding round witnessed contributions from notable backers such as BackedVC, Portage, The Venture Collective, along with several angel investors. The freshly acquired funds are earmarked to facilitate the expansion of Lopay's operations and enhance its business outreach. Founded in January 2022 by Richard Carter, Lopay is a payment app designed to empower small businesses to accept card payments from their customers. Moreover, customers have the option to instantly receive cleared funds in their bank accounts upon transaction completion. Since its inception, over 20,000 small businesses spanning various sectors have embraced Lopay's services, utilizing it for nearly 10 million customer payments. The company's competitive pricing has resulted in substantial savings, estimated at over £1 million in card fees for merchants since its launch. Lopay foresees processing an additional £500 million in card payments over the next 12 months, potentially saving its customers as much as £2.6 million in fees.
