Malaysian mobile communication services provider Celcom Axiata Bhd, part of telecommunications to technology company Axiata Group, intends to infuse 100 million ringgits ($24.4 million)  to develop its internet of things (IoT) centre.

The centre is expected to consist of network, content, research and ecosystem developments in Malaysia over the next five years.

Celcom Axiata said that $17.1 million will go towards network purposes, $4.9 million will go to research and development projects while $2.4 million towards platforms.

With the expansion plans, Celcom Axiata plans to execute more than 20 different uses in IoT, robotics and artificial intelligence.
