Mauritius-based telecommunication tower infrastructure company Helios Towers plans to invest 1.4 billion rands ($101.6 million) in telecommunications infrastructure in South Africa (SA).

TechCentral partnered with South African fibre and mobile network construction solutions provider Vulatel to build a shop, Helios Towers South Africa (HTSA), in South Africa in the next three to four years.

TechCentral said that it will work with Vulatel to make major greenfield wireless and fixed-line telecommunications infrastructure investments in South Africa.

HTSA intends to build open-access infrastructure that it will then lease to other companies. Helios Towers will own 66 percent of HTSA, with Vulatel holding the remaining 34 percent.
