Cervejas de Moçambique (CDM), a beverage production company and an AB InBev subsidiary based in Mozambique, has completed the construction of the most advanced brewery in Africa, investing approximately 150 million euros ($157 million) in the project. The brewery, located in Marracuene near Maputo, Mozambique, features cutting-edge technology, including what is claimed to be the fastest returnable glass line on the continent. CDM is known for its innovation in brewing cassava-based beer, such as the Impala brand, which uses 70 percent cassava starch instead of wheat or barley malt.

This development has not only provided a high-quality beverage but has also supported local farmers and created employment opportunities. The brewery, with a turnover of approximately $314.1 million in 2021, is the largest beer producer in Mozambique and a market leader, housing well-known beer brands like 2M and Laurentina.
