Dutch real estate investment firm Bouwinvest Real Estate Investors has committed 75 million euros ($86 million) to French residential and healthcare real estate projects.

This investment fits within Bouwinvest’s strategy of targeting the senior and general residential market in France.

Bouwinvest’s European investment portfolio is projected to grow from $1.1 billion this year, to $1.7 billion over the next two years, as part of a broader strategy to expand international assets under management (AUM) to $4.9 billion by 2020. Total AUM is expected to grow to $14.9 billion in 2020.

Bouwinvest has invested in the closed-end U.S. real estate investment fund AEW RESIDYS fund, which holds both residential and senior housing assets in its French metropolitan portfolio. AEW aims to grow the current portfolio of around 600 homes, 11 projects, to approximately 35 projects.
