OCP Africa, a subsidiary of phosphate producer OCP Group headquartered in Morocco, has committed 10 million naira ($8,767) to the Brightest University Fund, supporting top agricultural science students in Nigeria. The initiative aims to provide scholarships to eighty-one students based on performance in a nationwide qualifying exam. Scholarships will be transparently distributed following a thirteen-week televised competition. OCP Africa’s contribution aligns with its mission to promote agriculture in Nigeria and addresses youth perception of the field’s importance.

The Brightest National Agricultural Science Quiz Contest, supported by OCP Africa, seeks to engage students in finding technological solutions for food production in Africa. Over sixteen thousand students participated in the contest, with the top eighty-one competing for scholarships. The initiative, which began on April 6th, 2024, underscores OCP Africa's dedication to education and youth empowerment in Nigeria.
