Filipino media company GMA Network Inc. is expecting to invest about 1 billion Philippines peso ($19.2 million) for the second phase of its digitization project.

With the infusion, GMA Network will finance its digital terrestrial transmitters which provide superior digital television (TV) signal reach.

The second phase involves the production, post-production, content management and distribution of GMA and GMA News TV’s programs.

GMA Network noted media asset management and broadcast automation systems improvements are now complete, while the upgrade of electronic field production capabilities and post-production equipment and software are underway.
