Filipino water and wastewater company Manila Water Co., a unit of Ayala Corp, will invest more than 115 billion Philippines peso ($2.2 billion) in its used or wastewater treatment facilities expansion in the next 19 years.

Manila Water will start with an initial 4 year $733 million budget for the treatment and disposal of used water for its East Zone Metro Manila customers.

With the transaction, part of Manila Water's long-time effort to spare Manila Bay from sewage pollution, the company will establish used water treatment facilities for greater environmental impact including water supply investment.

The used water projects, which will be done in three phases and seven projects, have the go-signal and will be completed by 2022.
