Polish meteorological AI-driven tech startup Rainbow Weather has successfully raised almost $2 million in funding. This funding round saw participation from venture capitalist firms Kolos Ventures, Verras Capital, and Melnichek Investments. Additionally, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development provided further financial backing to the company, which operates under the name Rainbow Meteo Technologies and is headquartered in Poland. The capital infusion will be employed to expand operations and enhance the company's business reach. Founded by Yury Melnichek and Alexander Matveenko, Rainbow Weather offers precise and immediate weather forecasts using artificial intelligence. The company's initial product, a mobile app for iOS and Android, provides hyperlocal forecasts, notifying users about upcoming rain, snowfalls, storms, hurricanes, and their map-based movements. It has demonstrated 3.5% more rain prediction precision than Apple Weather in the US and 9.5% more precision than AccuWeather worldwide, calculated within a 30-minute forecast window. This means that, for every million weather app users, an additional 35,000 to 95,000 individuals can receive accurate notifications about approaching showers if they choose Rainbow Weather.
