South African education services provider Curro Holdings plans to invest more than 1.1 billion rands ($75 million) in building new campuses and improving existing ones.

The group said that $27 million had already been set aside during the current financial year to build six new campuses in South Africa, while about $48 million would be used to expand existing campuses.

Curro reported a 22 percent increase in headline earnings from continuing operations to $9 million for the six months to June from $7 million last year.

The company rose 0.7 percent on the Johannesburg stock exchange yesterday to close at $2.17.
