London-based embedded mobile connectivity startup shaka has raised $1 million in a seed funding round led by Haatch, Purple Ventures, and Antler. The company, which has emerged from stealth mode, offers a SaaS end-to-end product and API layer to enable brands to provide mobile plans to customers instantly, leveraging eSIM technology. The funds will be used to capitalize on the growing eSIM market, which is expected to reach $16.3 billion by 2027. shaka has already signed up large brands to adopt its technology and aims to expand its global reach beyond the UK market.
