Shell Canada Ltd, a subsidiary of Anglo-Dutch oil and gas company Royal Dutch Shell, is planning to infuse $16 million to upgrade its facility in Brockville, Ontario in 2019.

With the expansion plan, Shell Canada Products will install the next generation equipment at the plant to increase production and efficiency.

Shell Canada said that the investment will focus on sustainability, digitization and technology to its process control system so as to improve production and also replace its one-litre line with a new conveyor system.

The new facility will operate off-the-grid during peak usage times to reduce electricity costs with the installation of a new battery and hot oil heater to limit save energy costs.
