Singaporean salmon farming firm Pure Salmon, managed by 8F Asset Management, has collected $20 million in funding round.

With the new funds, Pure Salmon will develop new sites fully integrated with on-site hatcheries, grow-out systems and processing facilities. The company will also develop a 20,000 tonnes per annum, land-based salmon farm in Tazewell County, Virginia.

Pure Salmon said that its facilities in Poland, Japan, the U.S. and France or Italy will comprise phase I of its roll-out plans and contribute 40,000 tonnes of production to its 260,000-tonne global target.

With the expansion, the salmon will be reared in an uncontaminated environment with complete bio-security, close to areas of high salmon consumption hence keeping carbon emissions and transport costs low.
