South African energy solutions firm Stratek Global has partnered with financing company Koya Capital to build a 9 billion rands ($472.6 million) small nuclear reactor. Koya Capital will facilitate funding for Stratek Global's HTMR-100 reactor, capable of generating 100 megawatts (MW) of heat and 35 MW of electricity. The South African-engineered system, requiring less water, is adaptable for various locations in the country.

Koya Capital emphasized the collaboration's significance in establishing clean, reliable energy benchmarks for Africa, highlighting nuclear energy as vital for meeting the continent's demand for clean base-load power.
