South African entrepreneurs seeking global expansion opportunities have until Sunday to enter the Irish Tech Challenge. Spearheaded by the Embassy of Ireland in South Africa, South Africa’s Department of Science and Innovation (DSI), and the Technology Innovation Agency, in collaboration with Wits University’s Tshimologong Digital Precinct and Dogpatch Labs in Ireland, the initiative aims to support technology enterprises in South Africa. The challenge targets companies specializing in green technology, healthcare, education, and water sanitation and hygiene. Selected startups will receive 10,000 euros ($10,771) in grant funding, a ten-day trip to Ireland for networking and partnership building, mentorship, and support for business growth.

The 2024 Irish Tech Challenge seeks to enhance South African tech companies' global presence, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. By fostering connections between South African startups and international networks, the program aims to drive economic growth and job creation.
