South Korean lithium-ion battery packs manufacturer SMC Co. Ltd is planning to establish an automobile cluster in Uzbekistan, consisting of gas equipment testing and vehicle inspection centers.
The proposed centers will be engaged in the inspection of gas equipment, 300 laboratories, and technical inspection of vehicles, 150 laboratories, in all regions of the country.
The centers will as well include a non-destructive testing center in one of the educational institutions where modern information technologies will be provided.
SMC intends to infuse $50 million in the scheme and cooperate in the form of a public-private collaboration with direct funding from Korean financial institutions on mutually beneficial terms.
