South Korean automotive manufacturer Hyundai has pledged a donation of $1.1 million to aid in the recovery efforts of Morocco and Libya following recent natural disasters. Morocco was struck by a magnitude 7 earthquake on September 8, resulting in nearly three thousand casualties, while Libya faced a devastating storm in the city of Derna on September 10, claiming over eleven thousand lives. Hyundai's generous donation, consisting of $500,000 for Morocco and $600,000 for Libya, will be administered through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies with the assistance of the Korean Red Cross. This contribution, made in collaboration with Hyundai Motor Co, Kia, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, and Hyundai Engineering, aims to alleviate the suffering and support the affected regions in their recovery efforts.

In addition to the monetary aid, Hyundai Motor Co Middle East and Africa Headquarters, in partnership with its Moroccan distributor, is providing transport assistance for government-led initiatives related to school supplies, psychotherapy services, and blood donations. They are also offering discounts on damaged vehicle parts and conducting free inspections as part of their relief efforts, among others.
