Spanish renewable to infrastructure company Acciona SA has closed on the construction of the 404.57-megawatt peak (MWp) Puerto Libertad photovoltaic (PV) plant in Mexico.

The facility, expected to enter into service in the current quarter, costed a total estimated investment of 302.8 million euros ($348.9 million).

Acciona, via its energy unit, Acciona Energia, constructed the turnkey project for it's 50 or 50 joint venture with Mexican energy company Tuto Energy, owned by peer Biofields Group.

The complex, consisting of more than 1.22 million polycrystalline silicon panels, will produce around 963 Gigawatt hours of electricity annually.
