Swiss glass packaging manufacturer Vetropack intends to build a facility in Italy.

Vetropack plans to invest around 200 million euros ($225 million) in the next three years. It plans to buy a plot of land in Boffalora sopra Ticino to construct a new glassworks.

The company said that building its first greenfield site in Italy is key for its strategy. The current workforce will be transferred to the modern glassworks.

The facility will replace the existing plant in Trezzano by the end of 2021.
