Taiwanese original equipment manufacturing services provider Qisda has announced an investment of 308 million Taiwanese dollars ($10 million) to take a 33.1 percent stake in Data Image, a liquid crystal display (LCD) module maker, and 40 million yuan ($5.8 million) to take an 11 percent stake in Jiangsu Yudi Optical, a Chinese optical lens maker.

By investing in Data Image, Qisda is entering the marine-grade display sector. The Yudi deal will help Qisda secure lens supply for digital light processing (DLP) projectors.

Qisda's LCD display manufacturing capability can complement Data Image's marine LCD research and development.

Qisda will cooperate with Yudi to develop optical lenses for DLP projectors and artificial intelligent-based internet of things devices.
