Ternium USA Inc., a unit of Mexican steel products processor and manufacturer Ternium Mexico S.A. de C.V., has announced that it will invest $14.7 million to expand and upgrade its facility at The Port of Caddo-Bossier in Shreveport.

Through the project, Ternium will retain 150 existing jobs and create six new direct jobs with an average salary of $65,000, plus benefits. Louisiana Economic Development estimates the project will result in 16 new indirect jobs, for a total of 22 new jobs in Louisiana’s Northwest Region.

The company's expansion at The Port of Caddo-Bossier is a vote of confidence in the effectiveness of its port system, the talent of its people, and the strength of its business economy.

The investment in the Ternium facility will yield an additional 24,000 square feet to accommodate the new finished product and to reduce overall storage costs. Construction of the project is expected to be complete by December 2019.
