Turkish steelmaker Ereğli Demir to invest $1 bln in new capacity

Turkey-based steel producer Ereğli Demir Çelik Fabrikası plans to invest $1 billion in new capacity.

The move is expected to create 1,000 new jobs.

Ereğli Demir has constructed a new production facility for galvanized steel and has started test production.

The plant is expected to reduce Turkish imports by $38 million annually.
