Dubai-based education giant GEMS will construct five middle-range schools in Nairobi, Kenya at a cost of 2 billion Kenyan shillings ($20 million) in its expansion project.

GEMS will build low-cost Kenyan curriculum schools charging between $196.7 to $393.4 per year from 2020.

With the expansion plans, GEMS will open Regis Runda school built on 26 acres with a capacity of 2,000 students next January.

Recently, GEMS, which runs the GEMS Cambridge International School in Nairobi, also acquired Hillcrest International Schools valued at $12.8 million.
