Uganda Breweries Ltd (UBL), a beverage company based in Uganda, is set to expand its Farm for Success program, formerly known as the Local Raw Material program, aiming to support fifty thousand farmers by 2030. This initiative is designed to source 100 percent of the agricultural materials required for UBL's brands, such as Barley, Sorghum, and corn, from Ugandan farmers. Payments to farmers supplying raw materials reached 52 billion Ugandan shillings ($13.8 million) in 2022, and the program's expansion is projected to increase payouts to over $21.3 million within the next five years. UBL is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion, with a commitment to involve more women and people with disabilities in the program, aiming to source over 60 percent of agricultural produce from these groups. The company's Society 2030 program intends to equip 100 percent of local sourcing communities with agricultural skills and resources, supporting economic and environmental resilience while benefiting one hundred fifty thousand smallholder farmers.

Agriculture is a cornerstone of Uganda's economy, employing around 70 percent of the population and contributing significantly to export earnings and gross domestic product. The expansion of the Farm for Success program aligns with government objectives, fostering strategic partnerships with entities like the National Agricultural Research Organisation and Operation Wealth Creation to enhance research and improve agricultural productivity. UBL's collaboration with the government aims to address challenges faced by farmers and create increased demand for agricultural products, including Barley, Sorghum, and maize, while promoting inclusive growth and job creation in line with the National Development Plan.
