UK-based biopharmaceutical company AstraZeneca announced that it aims to spend about 500 million Malaysian ringgits ($122.3 million) to boost its productivity in Malaysia.

With the investments, AstraZeneca will set up new robotic and cognitive technologies to improve efficiency across its global operations over the next five years.

The project also consists of new Malaysian headquarters near Kuala Lumpur and a global business services hub expected to hire 600 people by 2023.

Moreso, the company also announced plans to collaborate with partners to explore digital transformation in the management of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases in Malaysia.
