U.S.-based online sneaker and streetwear retailer Stadium Goods has been acquired by UK-based fashion marketplace Farfetch for $250 million.

With this acquisition, Farfetch will expand beyond a marketplace for retailers to sell designer goods since Stadium Goods is a marketplace for individual resellers.

Additionally, Farfetch will extend into other peer-to-peer categories as Stadium Goods benefits from having a greater capitalization through the use of Stadium Goods platform.

The deal was facilitated by U.S.-based investment bank Goldman Sachs. As a result of the deal, Stadium Goods will become a fully-owned subsidiary of Farfetch.
