British consumer goods company Reckitt Benckiser Group plc (RB) plans a $23 million expansion of its Evansville facility with the intent of creating 95 new jobs over the next five years.

RB said that because of the support of the city of Evansville and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, the company is able to make additional investments in this vital facility that has employed nearly 800 Hoosiers over several generations.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered RB up to $1.25 million in conditional tax credits based on the company's job creation plans. The Evansville City Council voted 7 to 0 a resolution for a 10-year property tax phase-in related to the development, which will be worth about $850,000 during the 10 years.

RB said that in addition to investing $11 million to improve operational efficiencies and more effectively utilize buildings located at its 1.2 million-square-foot manufacturing site, the company's rehabilitation project will create new quality job opportunities in southwest Indiana.
