Virgin Atlantic, UK-based airlines owned by investment to technology company Virgin Group, and infrastructure and support services company Stobart Group plan to acquire regional airline Flybe, owned by airline company Flybe Group.

The acquisition will also include the consortium operating the Flybe’s flights alongside those provided by Stobart Group’s unit, Stobart Air.

Flybe closed its shares 18.2 cents, representing an equity value of 36 million pounds ($45.9 million).
