UK-based pharmaceutical firm Wasdell Group plans to open a new facility in Dundalk, Ireland next year following a 30 million euros ($34.8 million) investment.

Through the proposed 90,000 feet squared facility, Wasdell will be able to offer quality control import testing for pharmaceutical products and other packaging technologies.

The new packaging facility will also allow the company to strengthen its storage and distribution services outside of the UK and is expected to create 300 jobs over a period of five years.

The location will serve as a hub to undertake European Union release testing and ensuring continuity in services for customers. The firm has already commenced construction work on the Dundalk site.
