Volex, a UK power cords and cable assembly solutions provider, has secured a $30 million major new contract win with a North American-based automotive manufacturer.

Under the deal, Volex will supply advanced electric vehicle power products from its manufacturing facility in Tijuana, Mexico.

Moreover, full production will be expected to start during the 2024 calendar year, and the contract follows Volex’s decision to invest in doubling the capacity of its Tijuana site.

With the new contract win, Mexico will become Volex’s fourth site involved in the manufacture of electric vehicle products.
