California-based computer hardware sensor device manufacturer Leap Motion has been purchased by UK peer UltraHaptics.

Ultrahaptics paid around $30 million for Leap and will scoop up its patents and employees.

Ultrahaptics said that the companies' innovations are complementary rather than competitive, and Leap Motion’s technology is already used in Ultrahaptics products.

The company added that the deal will enable both companies’ engineers to further create two significant technologies and fuel growth.
