Aqua Ohio, a unit of U.S.-based water and wastewater utility company Aqua America, will invest $12 million in new projects in the Mahoning Valley, Ohio in this year.

Aqua Ohio said that the investment is part of a $41.9 million investment to upgrade infrastructure across the state.

The company said that it will infuse in sewage treatment plants as pollution control devices, thereby easing tax burdens and relieving pressures for future rate increases on customers.

Further, Aqua announced intentions to acquire the systems that serve Campbell and Youngstown.
