Aqua Ohio, the water utility subsidiary of U.S.-based water and wastewater utility company Aqua America Inc., has started the renovation of its treatment plant in Poland with $12 million pump in.

The plant, which produces an average of 4.6 million gallons of water a day, will be renovated to replace equipment that has reached its expected useful life, keep up with the changing regulations and also to modernize the treatment process.

The first part of the treatment processes are going to take place in the new facility and will have new four 146,000 gallon clarifier tanks and modern treatment techniques.

The plant renovation is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2019. When completed, two-thirds of the water treatment process will have been replaced, new efficiency designed to meet future supply and regulatory demands.
