U.S.-based TuSimple, an autonomous trucking startup, has landed $95 million in a funding round.

The round, which values TuSimple at $1 billion, was led by Chinese technology company Sina Corp. with participation from other backers including Hong Kong-based investment firm Composite Capital.

TuSimple intends to use the funds to extend its commercial fleet to 50 trucks by June from 11 currently.

The latest funding round brings the firm’s total funding to date to $178 million.
