U.S. construction management company Big-D Construction Corp., a unit of Big-D Corp., plans to start the construction of a new technology building for the Weber State University.

The Weber State University has been given $50 million from the state for the 143,000-square-foot building which will replace the Technical Education Building.

The Noorda Building for Engineering, Applied Science and Technology will accommodate the rapid growth in computer science and technology programs at Weber State.

The new building will house electrical, mechanical and systems engineering, computer science, professional sales departments and engineering technology. The Noorda Building is anticipated to be finalized in 2022.
