U.S. private equity firms Blackstone Group, KKR & Co., Indian animal feed and agribusiness company Godrej Agrovet and chemical industry company United Phosphorus Ltd. have put in independent bids to buy a majority stake in Gharda Chemicals, an Indian agrochemicals company.

The transaction that will lead to the acquisition of 57.7 percent stake in Gharda Chemicals could be worth between 5,600 crore rupees and 6,000 crore rupees ($803.6 million to 861 million).

The majority stake in Gharda Chemicals is held by Gharda Medical & Advanced Technologies Foundation.

The transaction includes the non-compete fee and the control premium with Gharda Chemicals valued at $1.3 billion.
