U.S.-based Air Force Space Command has awarded hardware and software components company Braxton Technologies, LLC a five-year contract worth up to $100 million.

Under the pact, Braxton Technologies will develop software to control satellites and ground stations. The company plans to hire up to 10 people to complete the contract.

With the deal, Braxton will deliver a redesign of the ground-based software system so that Air Force Space can control multiple satellites.

The first phase of the contract began on May 10 and is valued at $20 million for the first year but can be extended to four years.
