U.S.-based agriculture to pharmaceutical company Cargill is planning to invest $37.62 million in the modernization to its soybean processing plant in eastern Iowa.

Cargill said that the commitment in the Cedar Rapids east soybean facility is intended to modernize its equipment while boosting its efficiency.

The company’s plans for the facility include $31.5 million investment in machinery and equipment, design and engineering as well as $6.12 million in construction and site preparation.

The project, which is expected to occur this year will add 27,000 square feet.
