U.S. Churchill Downs buys Presque Isle Downs & Casino for $178.9 mln

U.S. horse racing, gaming and online entertainment company Churchill Downs Inc. has acquired casino and horse racing track Presque Isle Downs & Casino for $178.9 million.

Churchill Downs said that Presque Isle will give it a staging ground in Pennsylvania and the opportunity to participate in the online gaming market and sports betting throughout the state.

The company acquired the casino located at 8199 Perry Highway in Summit Township from Eldorado Resorts Inc.

The transaction was approved by The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
