The U.S. Department of Defense revealed that it has awarded SLSCO Ltd., a general contracting, program and construction management firm, a contract to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Of the $1 billion investment, SLSCO Ltd. has so far secured a $789 million firm-fixed-price contract for border replacement wall construction.

Additionally, work on the wall will be performed in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, with an estimated completion date of October 1, 2020.

In October, SLSCO also secured a $145 million deal by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to construct six miles the proposed border wall in Hidalgo County near the McAllen-Reynosa border crossing.
