New York-based Corning Inc., a specialty glass, ceramics, and related materials company, is investing $36 million in the refurbishment of its nine-story, 60-year-old C Building.

Corning Inc. said that it is refurbishing the property into an office of the future that will offer combinations of collaborative workspaces, individual touchdown spaces and the latest technology.

The company said that work inside the property will focus on redesigning the layout and installing new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, as well as ensuring the newly-renovated facility is compliant with current energy, fire and building codes.

Renovation of the C Building, located off Pulteney Street, started in March 2018 and is expected to be finalized in late 2020.
