U.S.-based medical equipment company Edwards Lifesciences Corp. plans to buy medical technology company CAS Medical Systems Inc in an all-cash deal.

The transaction values CAS Medical Systems at about $100 million.

Edwards said that the move will strengthen its leadership in smart monitoring technologies by providing physicians with a more comprehensive status of its surgical and critically ill patients.

In 2017, Edwards Lifesciences generated about $3.4 billion in revenue.
