U.S.-based technology and engineering company Emerson Electric Co. will invest about $425 million in its expansion projects this year.

With the investments, Emerson will construct at least three new U.S. plants as well as extend existing domestic operations.

The company noted that it is seeking the best-cost U.S. locations to build factories.

The first phase of the projects is underway, but the second will only be built if the trade deal goes forward.
