U.S.-based energy company Eversource plans to inject about $41 million in its tree trimming project in Wareham, Wellfleet and Barnstable this year.

With the investments, Eversource will trim trees and remove hazardous trees to enhance system reliability for customers throughout Massachusetts.

The company expects to trim trees along more than 3,000 miles of overhead lines around the state as part of its comprehensive vegetation management plan for 2019.

Eversource said that among the 75 communities in Eastern Massachusetts where tree trimming will be performed this year, some of the most extensive work will be done in Plymouth along 100 miles of electric lines.
